Our customized achievements
Since 2008, 66 MEDICAL SYSTEMS has installed about twenty customized Faraday cages, for MRI rooms in several countries in West Africa and North Africa.
• We offer thanks to our knowledge, a service fitting to your needs.
• We know how to adapt to each situation, to each environment.
• We offer a complete service: from the unloading of containers we carry out all the steps to complete the assembly of the Faraday cage, as well as its lighting and decoration.
Our expertise in medical imaging also allows us to carry out the establishment of the machine and its wiring, according to the installation procedure required by the manufacturer.
A service all in one allowing time-saving and a lot of money savings for the machine seller, cage maker and the final customer.
We guarantee our products for one year.
Our cages correspond with local standards and manufacturer's requirements of the MRI system:
• Mitigation (≥ 90 dB 10-900 MHz).
• Residual field
• Isolation from the building (> 500 Ω)
Currently, we advocate the modular copper foil cage and can provide:
Depending on the size of the site we prepare panels with 0.2 mm copper foil which are assembled on site.
The following supplies are included:
. RF doors in various sizes and opening sides.
. RF vision glass walls in various sizes.
. RF electric filter in several powers.
. Air conditioning filters "honeycomb".
. Soil, walls and ceiling decorating supplies.
. Suitable lighting with LED spot supplies.
We have the required equipment for a final check and we provide an inspection report.

GENERAL PRINCIPLE OF FARADAY CAGES (Radiofrequency Shielding)
It is a metal enclosure or cage that isolates a portion of space against the influence of external electric fields.
Inside the cage, the electric field is zero, even if the charges are located outside or if the cage is connected to a generator.
In other words, this space is protected enough to be neither disturbed nor disruptive.
In our case we want to protect an MRI in a medical environment. The aim is to ensure a perfect image quality and avoid that our MRI equipment disrupts the neighborhood devices.
The cage has to be isolated from the building. It must not show any hole. The required openings (input / output of signals, ventilation, doors ...) should be well studied for a safe RF sealing.
Any conductor element (screw) that passes through the conductive material must be electrically connected to it. For this connection to be sustainable the screws and copper materials have to be compatible. Copper on copper or copper on stainless steel.
The cables must pass through RF filters specially designed by the MRI manufacturer and the equipments used inside the cage manufacturers.
When using optical fibers, there must be a adapted passage through the RF enclosure.
Usually tubes that torque (diameter, length) ensures a good attenuation are used.
The MRI rooms to be shielded meet sometimes environmental issues: machine in motion, parking, elevator, railway line, ect... In such a context, a electromagnetic field measurement is necessary to define a possible strengthening of the shield, or a demonstration of the impossibility to use the site.
Similar steps must be taken in the case of the machine magnetic field, by its scope, may disturb a local attached to the MRI room.
